Save a Birding Hot Spot! Sunday, June 28 and July 26, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The diverse habitats along the Blue Mash Nature Trail, Laytonsville, MD, attract birds and other wildlife. Bird diversity has dropped off in recent years due to invasive non-native plants. Montgomery County Sierra Club is partnering with the Department of Environmental Protection to remove invasive plants and return the area into a birding hot spot. Tools are limited so please bring clippers, saws, and loppers. Long sleeves, pants, comfortable walking shoes or boots, hat, water, sunscreen, and insect repellent are recommended.
